We revivified a town house in the hip Antwerp district of Zurenborg. Inspired by the Belle Époque influence of the neighboring Cogels-Osylei, our designers envisioned a captivating sequence of chambers for the town house, forming a path to the luxurious garden. Each refurbished room, separated by arches, was to assert itself with a distinctive personality.
The first room of the house we designed as an open white space, a cosy seating area revolving around a low bench. Behind the arch you enter a green library room, inspired by Gustav Klimt’s works like Portrait of a Lady. We wanted the final room to flaunt the garden and therefore lowered the ceiling. This helped to establish a broad, framed view into it, as the window covers the entire width of the garden. Lastly, we emphasized the creative concept by sequencing charismatic objects that divide the garden into individual segments.
